Wow, so it has been over five years since I last posted here. Somehow life kept getting in the way – in that time I’ve left school, gone back to school, got married, became an accountant (never would have guessed that’s where my life was going when I started blogging here), and then the world fell apart because of a pandemic and that pretty much brings us to the present day.
We’ve been under a stay-at-home order here in Oregon for about a month now. I’ve been working from home since mid-March. Late last year I had mentioned to my manager how I’d like to schedule some more time to work from home, thinking it would be less stressful than having to get up and go to the office all the time. Well, readers, I am eating my words because working from home is actually the worst. All the days bleed into each other so I can hardly even tell it is the weekend or what time of day it is.
One thing that is keeping me connected during these times is rediscovering my postcard hobby. It started with sending cards out to several of my former-coworkers-turned-friends from a job I left last year, then family and old friends from back home. Today I logged into Postcrossing for the first time in years and grabbed some addresses to send out even more cards, and hopefully, receive some back.
I have a stack of cards I received from years ago that have been sitting on my bookshelf waiting to be featured on the blog, so I am going to queue those up and share a new card each day, until the isolation ends or I run out of cards.
First in my stack are two Nouvelles Images cards, received from a private Postcrossing forums swap. They come from Katrin in Germany and are dated June 26, 2016! Two more for my Nouvelles collection, depicting some delicious-looking dairy products.
