As you may know, I collect postcards of owls. I have three nice owl cards to share today, from all over the world!
This first is from Helene in Texas:
This card is from a stamp series showing the animals of the American prairie. These are burrowing owls, or Athene cunicularia. These owls make their home in the ground. You can see some buffalo and prairie dogs in the background, too.
This card comes from Inge in the Netherlands. It shows the Indian scops owl.
Finally, there is this card from a postcrosser in Belarus:
This is a dramatic picture of an Eagle owl. It is from a series of cards called “Fauna of Belarus.” I have some other cards from this series, showing the hedgehog and the European bison. The sender used a Christmas stamp:
It is hard to tell in the scan, but the ornaments and background are shiny silver. The stamp says “Happy New Year!”
