This is my first card from Wales, which shares a postal system with England and the rest of the UK, so in some ways it is and isn’t a new country for my collection. The stamps are the same, but the postmark is written in Welsh as well as English, which is not something that happens on my English postcards.

This card comes from Eunice in the seaside town of Aberystwyth.

Aberystwyth

It looks like a pleasant place. Eunice writes that the building on the far right is the old university, and that there is a Bronze Age settlement on the hill on the left. The beach looks a lot like our Oregon beaches- too cold for swimming and sunbathing! But beautiful nonetheless.

Tomorrow we wrap up a week around the world with a familiar country, Malaysia.
