I have been waiting so long for a card from New Zealand and then Ellen contacted me through Postcrossing and offered to send me a card. Even better, it was a card with a kiwi!

These funny looking flightless birds are a pretty famous symbol of New Zealand. They are nocturnal, so apparently they are hard to spot in the wild, according to Ellen. But they are much easier to find in zoos or sanctuaries, or postage stamps:

The kiwi stamp is mostly covered by the postmark, unfortunately, but maybe you can also see that it is a circular stamp, which is pretty neat. The other stamp shows Kapa Haka, the native Maori traditional dancing.
