The agave plant is used to make tequila. Every May, people all across the United States celebrate Cinco de Mayo with plenty of tequila, regardless of whether they are Mexican or not. Much like Saint Patrick’s Day, we have no problems celebrating and integrating other cultures’ holidays into our own, so long as they can include plenty of booze.
The stamp says “International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.”
