I received this card several weeks ago, but I saved it for today for a reason:
The card shows the “saddest place in Poland,” the remains of the crematorium and gas chamber at the Auschwitz concentration camp. On this day in 1945, it was liberated by Soviet troops. That is why this day is International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Let us hope that the tragedy that occurred here is never repeated, and that all those who are suffering in the world under oppressive regimes and wartime strife get their day of liberation.
