Last week I received two postcards from Russia. The first comes from a private swap and the second from Postcrossing:

This cards show the sites in Ekaterinburg.

This card is extra-wide and shows what I assume is a statue with the title “Station Master.” There’s not much information about it on the card.

And the stamps, of course, are neat:

It’s another stamp showing a panda!

Now, please excuse the terrible title in the pun, but I am wondering why it takes so long for mail to go between Russia and the US. Certainly there doesn’t seem to be any rushing between our two countries. Both these cards took at least 1 1/2 months to arrive! Does anyone know why mail is slow between the US and Russia?
